Our US Sales group is seeking to hire a Sales Service Specialist to join our team.  The Sales Service Specialist will be responsible for providing sales & client service for Legg Mason’s comprehensive suite of investment solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties Include, but not Limited to

  • Field inquiries from financial advisors and current/prospective end-clients regarding Legg Mason's investment solutions, including mutual funds, college savings accounts, separately managed accounts and online digital services.
  • Provide quality support to clients by responding to phone, e-mail, website and other inquiries regarding online service functionality, account opening procedures, account information, fund performance, risk profile and allocations.
  • Provide step-by-step guidance for clients requiring assistance with online navigation.
  • Work with custodian banks and transfer agents to research and resolve administrative, operational and trade information requests.
  • Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support.
  • Preserve and grow knowledge of help desk procedures, products and services by actively participating in training sessions, product and portfolio manager conference call and team meetings.
  • Recommend procedure modifications and improvements.
  • Interact and refer leads to/with internal wholesalers and sales directors to promote sales, retain assets and to support financial advisors.

Ideal Qualifications and Experience

  • Ability to develop extensive investment knowledge and tailor message to appropriate client;
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required;
  • 1-3 years of financial industry experience preferred;
  • Enthusiastic team player and self-starter with ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communication and client service skills;
  • Strong customer relationship management and servicing skills as well as internal corporate relationship management capabilities;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Detail and results oriented;
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency;
  • Willing to obtain Series 7 and Series 63 licenses within 6 months.

  • Able to be present in the office during assigned business hours unless otherwise authorized.
  • Able to apply knowledge into practical solutions.
  • Strong client relationship management and servicing skills.
  • Able to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.

  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Self-starter who can work well with people at all levels.
  • Able to work well with ever changing priorities and/or situations.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment that experiences a lot of change/heavy volume.
  • Able to develop strong working relationships
