Position Overview

Our ETF Product Management team is currently seeking an experienced ETF Product Specialist. The ETF Product Specialist will act as a key partner for our Sales teams, training and traveling with Sales to effectively articulate and position our ETF offerings. The ETF Product Management team is responsible for the development and implementation of Legg Mason's ETF business strategy. Key Responsibilities & Duties Include, but not Limited to

  • The ETF Product Specialist will have a finger on the pulse of everything our sales teams our sales teams need to sell our products; will possess a strong understanding of what our clients need in this space, and how we differentiate ourselves relative to the competition;
  • Develop product positioning; help to lead development of ETF marketing collateral, campaigns, and thought leadership;
  • Travel with the sales team and act as a product specialist on behalf of Legg Mason ETFs;
  • Train the sales team on ETF positioning and products;
  • Act as Legg Mason’s ETF product expert, with an excellent ability to explain the ETF vehicle and product set;
  • Manage operational setup at affiliates – assist new affiliates in establishing front and back office operations to support ETF product development;
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Legg Mason investment capabilities;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Legg Mason's ETF business plan;
  • Independently run a product as needed
  • Thoughtfully assess product ideas and coordinate of product development initiatives;
  • Manage day to day ETF business activities;
  • Collaborate and coordinate strategic initiatives with multiple internal groups (e.g. marketing, sales, legal, fund accounting, investment management);
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and awareness of best practices in the ETF industry;
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with broker/dealers, AP's/market makers and research analyst community;
  • Perform research and analytics to understand product trading dynamics and relative fund performance;
  • Proactively communicate and educate sales force on new product developments, product positioning, and industry trends;

Ideal Qualifications and Experience

  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years of ETF experience required. Sales experience strongly preferred;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Deep understanding of the investment and financial industry, particularly capital markets;
  • Ability to operate independently. Self-motivated, flexible and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Analytical skills and familiarity with analytical tools and resources common in the ETF industry;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff and clients;
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or other analytical subject;
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses required; CFA strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg, Zephyr, Morningstar and other platforms strongly preferred.
