Position Overview

Legg Mason's Global Information and Business Solutions team (GIBS) is hiring an ERP Analyst to support Legg Mason's Workday platform. The position will be responsible for staying abreast of enhancements delivered by Workday with weekly releases and semi-annual version updates. The position will be required to interface with business owners to evaluate needs and opportunities for improvement using technology with a focus on end user experience and automation.  In addition to forward looking responsibilities, the position will be required to troubleshoot and resolve complicated and critical issues as they arise.  The position will become an authority on all things Workday.

Key Responsibilities & Duties Include, but not Limited to

The position will be responsible for focusing on continuous improvement of the Workday Platform in the areas of:

 

  • Finance: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Travel and Expenses, Fixed Assets, Purchasing, Projects, Payroll, Banking,
  • HR: Core HR, Compensation, Time Tracking, Absence, Talent, Business Process Administration, Reporting, Security
  • Business Process Administration
  • Reporting
  • Security
  • Provide liaison/issue resolution to all Legg business units and affiliates, relating to Finance and HR issues.
  • Maintenance of department procedures.
  • Additional projects as required, working with management & technology to implement process enhancement, supporting the overall Data Governance initiative
  • Participate in application deployment and post-deployment testing
  • Coordinate and participate in production turnover of new functionality process
  • Role responsibilities are typically 20% Strategic, Tactical 50%, Transitional 30%

Ideal Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • 1-4 years experience in Information Technology; experience in finance or banking environment considered a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work efficiently & effectively in a time critical environment, meeting day to day business deliverables as well as assisting the team in project deliverables.
  • Critical skills required for the position:
    • Advanced problem solving, reverse engineering, critical thinking, solid understanding of data flow, requirements documentation, driven to learn, self-motivated
    • Excellent written/verbal communication required
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to multi task in a high demand, fast paced environment
    • Ability to work creatively and analytically
