Position Overview

Legg Mason’s Global Distribution Organization, based in Stamford, Connecticut is currently seeking a Junior Business Analyst for its Sales Reporting and Compensation team. This position will focus on compiling and reporting on Asset and Flow information to produce actionable information to drive management decisions.

 

The Sales Reporting and Compensation Team is responsible for maintaining the records of Legg Mason Global Distribution’s Assets and Flows, commission generation for US based salesforce and fielding ad hoc requests, as well as other analysis.  The group is a strategic enabler of robust business intelligence to support the organization’s front line sales, marketing, and analytical efforts. 

 

While the role is embedded in the Distribution organization, he/she will work cross-functionally with other internal teams and vendors.

 

 

Key Responsibilities & Duties Include, but not Limited to

  • Prepare sales/management reporting to senior management and other business units primarily utilizing BusinessObjects, Tableau and Excel with an emphasis on data visualization
  • Lead on-boarding process of new flow/asset data sources into reporting database/CRM with a focus on SMA and ETF business lines
  • Focus on data integrity, data analysis and reconciliation often working closely with CRM and sales teams
  • Analyze and report on global sales flow trend incorporating broader competitive landscape/market analysis
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and field inquiries from across the organization
  • Assist with annual planning/budgeting process

Ideal Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Accounting/Finance background with 0-3 years experience (Financial Services Industry experience a plus)
  • Proficiency in Excel is critical
  • Experience with SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau, SQL/Oracle database experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of databases to optimize/automate work efforts
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; Legg Mason is unable to sponsor candidates to work in the U.S. for this position
