Position Overview

Legg Mason is seeking a bright, enthusiastic Sales Service Associate to join our London based Client Service team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

   

The Sales, Client Service, and Channel Marketing teams are crucial to deepening key relationships with European clients whilst pro-actively identifying and pursuing business opportunities with both new and existing clients. You will play a key role by proactively supporting the European Client Service department to ensure the smooth running of client accounts, communication and servicing.

Key Responsibilities & Duties Include, but not Limited to

  • Build and maintain understanding of Legg Mason clients to ensure accurate and timely on-boarding occurs for all new clients into SalesForce.  Proactively work with Operations, Data Management, Client Service, Business Development teams and external vendors to ensure new accounts are classified correctly in SalesForce and all SalesForce client data is stored accurately to ensure meaningful data can be collected from SalesForce. Encourage and effectively utilise the CRM system while managing and updating campaigns in addition to other data points.
  • Update account allocations for new clients.
  • Manage the provision of all client communications. Work with Sales, Client Service, Marketing, Product Development and Product Specialists to ensure regular communication is sent to clients in line with distribution initiatives across Europe to include fund launches, fund consolidation, sales and marketing initiatives and campaigns.  Work with Marketing to create a framework to ensure regular communication is sent to clients to include commentaries and thought leadership materials. Client communications should be produced swiftly when reactive while also continuing proactively throughout the client life cycle.
  • Own the client account data in SalesForce by identifying incorrect or missing data, flagging to relevant parties and working with them to resolve and amend. Assist with mass clean-up projects to enable efficient usage of the system.
  • Support the Business Development Directors in helping them develop their key intermediary relationships – keep abreast of client account activities, identifying any actions required in SalesForce or client communications to be sent.
  • Understand and keep abreast of the investment process and style of the relevant Legg Mason subsidiaries for use in updating and completing regular client RFIs.
  • Keep abreast of the administration, dealing procedures and portfolio changes across the range of onshore and offshore funds.
  • Oversee the management of platforms and associated data supplements.
  • Control the institutional reporting function.
  • Assist with the management of all external events including corporate hospitality, roadshows, events and seminar development. Liaise with all the relevant parties, both internal and external to ensure events are run to the highest standard and efficiency.
  • Coordinate conference call activity and client meetings with affiliate Fund Managers.
  • Manage travel and accommodation booking for the Client Relationship Managers/Business Development Managers.
  • Manage roadshow logistics in hand with marketing, CRMs, business development directors and ensure fund managers are well taken care of.
  • Consistent engagement with BDMs and product specialists to improve industry knowledge, technical knowledge and sales skills which can be relayed to clients during day to day business or call campaigns.
  • Proactive client contact verbally and during industry events while identifying selling opportunities to pass onto the relevant CRM/BDMs.
  • Support Head of EMEA Client Service with institutional reporting and client contact.

Ideal Qualifications and Experience

  • Excel and technical skill paramount. VBA experience preferred.
  • Some experience of the investment management market place, the products on offer and some awareness of current industry trends and issues
  • Sound understanding of the sales process and CRM service
  • Previous experience of handling client accounts essential, preferably within the Asset Management industry
  • Graduate ideally in a business related discipline
  • IMC qualification is desirable.
