Position Overview

Legg Mason is seeking a Business Development Manager foscued on Institution Sales to support the firm’s institutional marketing & client service activities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties Include, but not Limited to

  • Take leadership in client service activities for maintaining key relationships with existing clients.
  • Develop and identify potential client leads for institutional business in Taiwan
  • Responsible for fund-of-funds, institutional and government funds segments in Taiwan
  • Take initiatives for developing business relationship and prospects
  • Identify potential client leads, prepare presentations, follow up on client contacts and responsible for the negotiations and closing of the sales of investment services
  • Work closely with other offices in Asia and inter-regionally to ensure a coordinated approach and effective sharing of information and data for clients
  • Interact with various functional groups to ensure the efficient delivery of client communications and reports
  • Take leadership in preparing and maintaining data related to RFPs and material used in client presentations

Ideal Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of financial services related experience, preferably in asset management environment
  • Good knowledge of AM industry and operations, with understanding of the competitive landscape for local Taiwan when assessing the appetite/interest
  • Experience in dealing with institutional client base
  • Strong communication skills – English and Mandarin, written and verbal, and ability to interact with clients, managers in other departments and overseas offices
  • Excellent product presentation and promotional skills
  • A fast paced individual with a positive attitude and willingness to work in a team oriented environment
  • Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills and able to handle deadline-oriented workload - must be able to work well under pressure and able to prioritize projects
