  • Position Overview

    Our Americas Offshore Group, based in Miami, FL, is seeking  a Sales Director to join our team, based in the Chile Office.

    Key Responsibilities & Duties Include, but not Limited to

    • Partner with a designated Regional Director to drive relationships to increase Legg Mason gross and net sales, as well as improve asset retention, within client firms in, but not limited to: Uruguay, Argentina and Peru.
    • Via phone, in-person, and electronic communication cultivate and manage relationships with financial advisors by offering sales ideas, market intelligence, product information and updates, as well as other forms of support.
    • High usage of CRM system to successfully execute a business plan in conjunction with Regional Director to foster new relationships while providing world class customer service to drive sales within assigned territory
    • Provide follow-up and sales support and service as needed.
    • Prospect new clients to establish new relationships and generate business
    • Requires to Travel on a monthly basis and spend at least 1 week a month in Uruguay.

    Ideal Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
    • Minimum 5+ years of sales experience within a financial services firm
    • Must have demonstrated success selling over the phone with a strong call structure and an organized sales process
    • Outstanding communication, organizational, & presentation skills
    • Extensive investment product knowledge and understanding of financial concepts with the ability to articulate a variety of investment topics ranging from fundamental asset classes to alternative investments
    • Excellent listening skills as well as the ability to identify opportunities and suggest creative solutions
    • CRM experience strongly desired
    • Enthusiastic team player and self-starter with ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced sales environment;
    • Strong customer relationship management and servicing skills as well as internal corporate relationship management capabilities;
    • Able to be present in the office during regular business hours unless otherwise authorized
    • Able to travel
    • English fluency required, written and spoken.

    • Able to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Proactive; solution-oriented
    • Detail oriented and organized
    • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment that experiences a lot of change/heavy volume
