Position Overview

If you have Fund Accounting or Fund Operations experience and want to join the fast growing ETF business, this is the opportunity for you!  Our ETF business is hiring a mid-level Fund Operations/Fund Oversight Specialist for our World Headquarters in Downtown Baltimore (Harbor East). Here, you will be responsible for services, support and oversight related to Legg Mason’s growing ETF business along with involvement in various technology initiatives across the department.


Duties include oversight of fund accounting and custody service providers, implementation and execution of a “best practices” service provider oversight program within a risk based control environment, involvement in technology initiatives to enhance controls that add “value” and efficiency, coordinating and executing day to day operational requirements, and internal client support. The role requires you to work effectively with other Fund Services teams and Legg Mason's Affiliates located in varous locations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties Include, but not Limited to

  • Perform the required day to day activities of the ETFs
  • Execution of a “best practices” service provider oversight program
  • Support key business and technology initiatives/projects
  • Support internal clients, the Legg Mason investment affiliates, etc., as required

Ideal Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance related field
  • 2-5 years’ financial services experience (preferably in operations). ETF experience a strong plus
  • Knowledge of operational aspects of an investment company desired (e.g. fund accounting, custody, and administration) 
  • Experience/Exposure to technology tools such as those used for work flow management, report writing, data visualization and project management
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in all formats
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong desire to learn; intellectual curiosity
