  • Position Overview

    The Web Developer, will need 5-7 years of experience using and leveraging  HTML, CSS, JS, Vue.js, node.js to join our team and help lead how Legg Mason develops complex web applications. This person will be working in a highly collaborative AGILE environment, where you will work with cross-functional teams to build innovative features to replace and retire existing frameworks. The ideal candidate will enjoy tackling complex technical challenges, and have a passion for solving unique marketing business problems while integrating custom SaaS solutions.  Legg Mason is a fast-paced, results-oriented culture that rewards innovative thinking. This position requires U.S. Citizenship.






    Key Responsibilities:


    • Work with our lead architect on project discovery and iteration zero for time bound projects like Web Site redesigns and Intranet modernization for both corporate and subsidiary businesses.
    • Would work with our technology partners and on and offshore teams.
    • Work closely with our product and design teams to create new/updated Adobe creative cloud experience for the web.
    • Prototype new and redesign features and implement best practices and standards and participate in software architecture, design and development.
    • Assist in the teams AGILE Transformation.
    • A focus on user experience, UI design principles and making applications work intuitively.
    • Experience with JavaScript, Git,CSS, HTML, RESTful API, Node.js and web technologies with experience in JavaScript frameworks and responsive web design.
    • Experience in understanding large and complex code bases, including API design techniques to help keep them clean and maintainable.
    • Quickly dive into the platforms, learning the architectures and methodologies used, starting with smaller localized features and moving onto being the architect for growth and extensibility.
    • Deliver high quality software solutions for the Enterprise. Follow coding standards, code reviews, and provide automated tests as needed. Work with various engineering teams, product management, experience design and quality engineering to ensure we deliver great compelling solutions.
    • Have the ability to adapt and change direction/technologies to leverage new learnings. Improve the availability, performance, scalability and security of the product.
    • Emphasize monitoring and metrics for analyzing health and usage of features and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues from the production environment.




    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Systems and or Computer Science.
    • Scrum experience and working with Agile tools like Jira and Confluence is required.
    • Vue.js, CSS, grid, Flexbox, node.js, LESS/SCSS/Stylus, Java, Apache HTTP, HTML5 (local storage, semantic), REST and Responsive Design.
    • Strong relationship building and influencing skills that maintain effective partnerships across functional groups. 
    • Seasoned professional with niche experience in performance management using latest HTML5 features like localStorage, globralStorage etc.
    • Ability to set direction, generate a sense of purpose, and inspire a team to work in an optimum manner to achieve desired results.
    • Broad knowledge of UX and UI best practices on prototype development and collaboration. E.g. photoshop layers, ES2016, JavaScript Modules, Webpacks development.

    Nice to have’s:

    1. AEM Component Development (with Sightly, SlingModels, JavaScript Use API).
    2. AEM Services development.(OSGi, resource servlets, jobs, Replication agents, dispatcher agents).
    3. The person is well versed with Adobe XD, Zepplin, Sketch and similar tool sets of UX and UI development.
    4. Candidate is fluent in the marketing technology landscape.
    5. Mobile experience preferred.
