  • Position Overview

    Reporting to Managing Director, Enterprise Risk Management, this position is responsible for maintaining Legg Mason’s resiliency program to recover business functions and technology in the event of a disruption.

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Establish business continuity objectives, policies and standards.
    • Guide business functions in following a framework to determine impact and criticality of business processes and applications, defining department specific recovery strategies, documenting information that is actionable and implementable during a disruption, and conducting testing.
    • Develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with business partners, designated business continuity coordinators, technology and information security colleagues, Internal Audit and others to ensure operational priorities, dependencies, and risks are identified and addressed.
    • In the event of an incident, play a key role in the coordination and communication of business recovery activities and status communications
    • Coordinate with affiliate business continuity professionals.
    • Ensure capable coverage 24 X 7 to support global business in the event of a disruption.
    • Maintains contact with outside contingency planning professional organizations and local/regional emergency groups.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related degree.
    • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or other BC/DR certification required.
    • 8-10 years of business continuity experience in the financial services sector, of which at least 3 years are at a management level
    • Firm knowledge of rules and regulations that govern business continuity as well as global recovery and resolution
    • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
    • Strong meeting facilitation skills
    • Strong project management skills
    • Strong stakeholder management skills.
    • Enjoys a collaborative work environment whilst embracing a ‘self-starter’ attitude.
    • Available for occasional travel.
