  • Position Overview

    Legg Mason is seeking a Channel Marketing Manager to join our Global Marketing organization, based out of our office in Frankfurt. As the Channel Manager, you would have responsibility of optimizing the whole customer experience, leading cross-functional activities to determine product priorities which will impact the budget allocation, marketing focus, and the final execution on a regional and Pan-European level.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, manage, evaluate and review marketing strategy (including content) for the German, Austrian, and Swiss market as well as at the Pan European level in line with brand, sales and overall business objectives.
    • Develop and manage all areas of the marketing mix for all distribution channels and implement key metrics to evaluate effectiveness and ROI, in conjunction with other internal/external stakeholders.
    • Oversight of marketing literature, working closely with the content, product marketing, sales and product specialist teams to create optimum brand/product positioning and messaging.
    • Implement advertising plan, managing external relationships with media buyers and evaluate the related metrics.
    • Ownership of the regional websites, ensuring that content remains current and that it is fully integrated with the corporate message as well as with the regional sales activity.
    • Building a strong partnership with the sales team to establish joint priorities and gain alignment on strategic plans.
    • Supporting the Head of Channel Marketing - Europe and Americas International on Pan European initiatives, as required.
    • Regional budget allocation, management, recording and reporting.
    • Assessing and challenging the marketing strategy through analytics.
    • Co-operate with the regional sales team at events and conferences, as required.
    • Working closely with key stakeholders (e.g. global marketing, sales, product specialist group, product, compliance, finance).
    • Partnering with the compliance department to develop and maintain the knowledge of regional regulations related to financial services
    • Provide insight into the marketing developments both internally and externally to maximize efficiencies.

    Qualifications:

    • Educated to degree level
    • IMC or equivalent qualification desirable
    • Excellent knowledge of German language (written and verbal).
    • Excellent understanding of marketing production process (including Compliance) and knowledge of e-commerce.
    • Excellent knowledge of the asset management industry and mutual funds.
    • Technical understanding of investments and different asset classes to enable succinct articulation of the benefits of any given fund.
    • Strong understanding of the UK and European markets and the main distribution channels and clients
    • Deep understanding of distribution channels and client segmentation.
    • Excellent writing, grammar and communication skills.
    • Strong relationships with conference organisers, agencies and platforms and with marketing managers from peer organisations.
    • Analytical skills
    • Strong project management skills.
    • 7+ years’ marketing experience within financial services.
