  • Position Overview

    Our US Product Management team is seeking a Business Management Associate to execute key business management initiatives for our 529 Plan, including: product and business management, legal and compliance requirements, operation and client support, as well as ensure business opportunities and efficiencies are identified and streamlined into proper cross-functional department for more effective resource allocation and enhanced business results. 

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Proactively support business relationship with CollegeInvest by partnering with cross-functional teams (Investment affiliates, Legal, Compliance, Global Fiduciary Platform (GFP), Marketing, and Distribution) on the following initiatives:
      • Provide guidance to GFP business partners to manage Operations and Transfer Agency Oversight (omnibus relationships, annual account maintenance fee, Colorado Department of Revenue requests);
      • Engage with Legal and Compliance in all matters pertaining to risk management (privacy programs, identity theft, fraud, customer complaints), industry regulatory, tax reform, and legislative developments (e.g. MSRB, FINRA, SEC, SIFMA);
      • Collaborate with Marketing to develop digital content, collateral materials, and advertising campaigns that will drive business growth and support the strategic and tactical goals set forth in the annual marketing plan. Solicit results to measure campaign effectiveness (e.g. advertising, direct mail, seasonal themes, programs);
      • Facilitate reporting requests by articulating data analysis needs to Global Information and Business Solutions department (GIBS), provide ongoing input/feedback on development.
    • Prepare supporting documentation for Board Meeting presentations and Product Committee proposals.
    • Apply creative critical thinking skills to streamline processes that will advance the needs of the business and remain in accord with key provisions of all contracts.
    • Ensure timely results and continuous business and client enhancement by conducting strategic business analysis to identify opportunities for enhanced service, reduced costs, and/or lead to general process improvement. Put together internal working groups to update procedures and ensure optimal efficiency.
    • Gather program statistics, activity metrics, and track industry data (e.g. Strategic Insight, ICI, CSPN/NAST, and Savingforcollege.com) in a way that is consistent and replicable to drive business decisions.
    • Perform additional responsibilities, as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Minimum of 2 or more years industry experience preferred, with meaningful understanding of the investment industry and excellent understanding of financial services operations
    • Proven ability to identify process inefficiencies and take action to improve
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to craft and follow procedures
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills; exhibits professionalism in all communication
    • Motivated self-starter who can suggest creative solutions
    • Solid project management experience with proven effective organization
    • Enthusiastic team player with excellent interpersonal skills – effective working with cross-functional teams and ability to multi-task, assess, and prioritize business opportunities
    • Problem solver with ability to creatively implement tactical initiatives
    • Excellent computer skills, especially knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Programming knowledge such as SQL, R or Python a plus
    • Willing to assume additional/broader responsibilities
