    Calling all Talent Management leaders! Our Global Human Resources team is seeking a new Global Head of Talent Management to work out of our Baltimore, MD, Stamford, CT, or New York, NY office.


    As Global Head of Talent Management, you will set the strategy for a talented group of HR professionals who are responsible for attracting and developing talent within the organization. You will lead and inspire a team comprised of Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Development, and Organizational Development professionals to design and deliver the talent lifecycle. You will provide guidance and solutions to the organization to enhance employee development, engagement, and retention to achieve organizational objectives.   

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Works at the most senior level to build out and execute the company’s talent lifecycle from talent identification to development and retention
    • Provides professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of the 360° talent review process that is required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talent 
    • Evaluates and maintains the organization’s competency models that drive the assessment and development of talent; partners with HR Business Partners to identify development plans as necessary
    • Regularly conducts strategic assessments of talent needs and recommends strategies, tools, assessments, and processes that take into consideration current and future workforce trends
    • Designs and implements programs to support organizational change and drive continuous improvement 
    • Partners with key stakeholders and internal and external resources to develop and execute on talent strategies
    • Coaches leaders on effective employee performance management & development practices to result in improved operational functioning 
    • Creates the strategic direction for learning programs that align with Legg Mason’s learning strategy 
    • Provides direction and leadership to a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists


    • Advanced Degree in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Organization Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or similar area of study
    • 7+ years’ experience in a senior level, strategic Talent Management role with a minimum of 3 years managing HR professionals; prior experience managing Talent Acquisition function is a plus 
    • Previous experience developing talent management metrics
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Change Management methods and Project Management, having planned and executed projects with change management implications 
    • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with examples of complex, highly sensitive situations
    • Flexible and adaptable; able to work effectively in ambiguity
    • Resilient and able to work in a fast-paced work environment
    • Must be a team player with the ability to collaborate with and work through others
    • Efficient communicator with excellent presentation skills
    • Consulting and project management experience preferred
    • Demonstrated high level of technology proficiency
