  • Position Overview

    Our US Sales team, located in Stamford, CT, is seeking to hire a Sales Service Associate to join our team. The Sales Service Associate group provides administrative, risk and project management support to the Retail, RIA, Private Bank, Insurance/Sub Advisory and DCIO Regional Directors. Each Sales Service Associate will support approximately 3-7 Regional Directors or National Account Managers via phone and e-mail. The Sales Services team is focused on delivering maximum value to our sales teams at all times, enabling them to sell more, sell better and sell more efficiently. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with high client services standards and puts team success first.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Process travel and expenses for Regional Directors, process invoices

    • Assist external wholesalers with setting appointments, maintaining schedules, and meeting follow-ups as requested
    • Mail or email promotional items and approved marketing materials to Financial Advisors and RIAs
    • Run Customer Relationship Management database sales and activity reports and communicate results to Regional Directors
    • Facilitate CRM database clean-up
    • Research and resolve trade reconciliation questions
    • Setup and coordinate local meetings/conferences working closely with Marketing and vendors
    • Assist with seeking the pre-approval for all non-cash compensation activities
    • Communicate internal policy and procedure changes (e.g. Workday, Salesforce.com, Cash/Non Cash, Distribution of Marketing Materials) to Regional Directors
    • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
    • 3-5 years experience in a fast-paced professional environment
    • Previous sales support & customer service experience
    • Proven ability to identify process inefficiencies and to take action to improve
    • Master at multi-tasking; able to manage multiple projects at once, juggle priorities, meet tight deadlines and effectively communicate expectations to stakeholders
    • Ability to quickly learn technology systems and utilize reporting functions; experience with a CRM system preferred
    • Detail oriented
    • Independent worker; able to exercise judgment according to regulations and policies; comfortable escalating issues to management when needed
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills; exhibits professionalism in all communication
    • Demonstrated excellence in telephone skills
    • Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. 

     

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Ability to focus for extended periods of time with specific attention to detail
    • Ability to build relationships and interact in a professional manner with Regional Directors, Managers, other Sales Service Associates, and Legg Mason colleagues in other departments
    • Can manage project timetables and adhere to strict deadlines
    • Must be present in the office during assigned business hours (8:00 am-5:00 pm), unless otherwise authorized; must be available for occasional overtime
    • Ability to follow procedures
    • Ability to cope with a fast paced and high volumen environment, especially during times of heavy volume
    • Ability to take on unscheduled projects on short notice
    • Enthusiastic team player
