  • Position Overview

    As part of the Global Fiduciary Platform function, the Senior Manager role will be based in the Legg Mason Dublin office, reporting to the Senior Assurance Manager in London, and will support the GFP global function in respect of the following key areas:


    Outsourcing Oversight Assurance: Oversight is conducted via a monitoring framework using risk and control assessments to identify the annual plan. Oversight of fund administration service providers in both Ireland and the UK includes owning all events identified as being monitoring activities. This will include attending onsite due diligence meetings, weekly and monthly service reviews     


    Project / Change Management: The role will also be required to participate in and potentially lead change management plans. In this capacity the role will provide technical advice, business impact assessment and project management services in respect of regulatory change, product change and operational / strategic change. The role will be required to ensure change management at fund administration partners is carried out in accordance with their change programme and delivers in a manner that ensures Legg Mason funds remain compliant with all regulatory obligations and with adequate risk mitigation.


    Stakeholder Support: GFP provides the key points of contact for Legg Mason in respect of those organisations providing Fund Administration services. The role is, therefore, essential in helping Legg Mason manage interactions with service providers and so provide stakeholder support on a day to day basis to service the requirements of affiliates, compliance, distribution or other functions of LMGD. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Continuous review and development of the Fund Accounting / Custody oversight model, including;
      • relationship management,
      • due diligence visits,
      • implementing industry and regulatory developments,
      • coordinating resolution of operational matters.
    • Maintain the relationships with Third Party Administrators (‘TPA’s’), Strategic Distribution, Affiliates and Product partners and external parties where appropriate
    • Service Provider Oversight – ensure execution of a risk-based oversight model of our custodians and Fund Administrators, and the development of new processes and controls when required.
    • Products – play a key role in new product launches and changes to existing products.
    • Client Servicing – work closely with sales teams and investment managers to understand and support their requirements, requests, inquiries and various initiatives.
    • Regulatory Requirements - ensure certain required regulatory filings are completed and filed timely.
    • Board Reporting – work as a liaison to the Irish Board. Work with the Administrators to ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Board.
    • Management Reporting – develop materials and key metrics to periodically report to management.
    • Coordinate Annual/Semi Annual process for report and accounts. Including liaising with Auditors, TPA and internal parties.
    • Review monthly administrator SQR reports.
    • Attend Monthly reviews with Depositary and TPA
    • Attend/Represent GFP at Quarterly Board meetings.


    • Accounting qualification or training for accounting qualification
    • Fund accounting or Fund operations background, with a knowledge of the Asset Management industry being highly desirable.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to present ideas to a broad audience.
    • Good grasp of the investment management market place, and an awareness of current industry trends and issues.
