  • Position Overview

    As part of the Global Fiduciary Platform (“GFP”) function, your role will be based in the Legg Mason London office and will support the GFP global function in respect of the following key areas:


    Stakeholder Support: GFP provides the key points of contact for Legg Mason in respect of those organisations providing Fund Administration services. The role is, therefore, essential in helping Legg Mason manage interactions with service providers and so provide stakeholder support on a day to day basis to service the requirements of affiliates, compliance, distribution or other functions of Legg Mason Global Distribution (“LMGD”). 

    Outsourcing Oversight Assurance: Oversight is conducted via a monitoring framework using risk and control assessments to identify the annual plan. Oversight of fund administration service providers in both Ireland and the UK includes owning all events identified as being monitoring activities. This will include attending onsite due diligence meetings, weekly and monthly service reviews    

    Project / Change Management: Your role will also have the opportunity to participate in change management plans. In this capacity GFP will provide technical advice, business impact assessment and project management services in respect of regulatory change, product change and operational / strategic change. GFP are required to ensure change management at fund administration partners is carried out in accordance with their change programme and delivers in a manner that ensures Legg Mason funds remain compliant with all regulatory obligations and with adequate risk mitigation. The trainee will have the opportunity to observe and participate in this process.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the day to day completion of oversight monitoring tasks including responding to and resolving queries or issues raised by any stakeholder.
    • Participate in regulatory, product or strategic change initiatives, assist in documenting key milestones and monitoring departmental actions.
    • Assist in preparing management information and reporting to enable meetings for review
    • Support oversight function in risk and control self-assessment documentation, maintenance of departmental procedures and policies
    • Participate in weekly meetings with all key service providers and support monthly service review / Key Performance Indicators. Identify key actions and ensure follow up and closure
    • Assist team in preparing for upcoming events, activities or meetings

    • Must be able to work in a small team and under pressure
    • Must be able to react and resolve operational issues in a short time frame
