  • Position Overview

    The role will be based in the Singapore office and be part of Legg Mason Global Marketing and Communication Team.

    The Marketing Manager focuses on optimizing the whole customer experience, leading cross-functional activities to determine marketing strategy, campaigns, and product priorities which impact budget allocation, marketing focus, and the final execution on a country and regional level. You will collaborate with the Head of Asia, local and regional marketing team to define marketing plans and initiatives.

     

    The role will also consist of creating marketing communication materials to help drive sales from bespoke client presentations to thematic solutions-based presentations as well as managing web content and strategic e-mail communications. Roadshows and event coordination - including fund manager visits, third party conference sponsorship and joint distributor activity will also form part of this role.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conceptualize, develop and produce new market & product related training/presentation materials and related regional marketing materials for both Singapore and Asia
    • Creation of new marketing collaterals for new product launches and/or new marketing literature for existing products.
    • In partnership with sales and the product specialist team to develop key product messages and positioning in a range of collaterals to support the sales process
    • Develop, manage, evaluate and review marketing strategy (including content) for the Singapore market to ensure that is in line with brand, sales and overall business objectives.
    • Develop and manage all areas of the marketing mix for all distribution channels and implement key metrics to evaluate effectiveness and ROI, in conjunction with other internal/external stakeholders.
    • Implement advertising plan, managing external relationships with media buyers and evaluate the related metrics.
    • Ownership of the country websites, ensuring that content remains current and that it is fully integrated with the corporate message as well as with the local sales activities.
    • Building a strong partnership with the sales team to establish joint priorities and gain alignment on strategic plans.
    • Supporting the Asia Head of Marketing on Country and regional initiatives, as required.
    • Assessing and challenging the marketing strategy through analytics.
    • Co-operate with the country and regional sales team at events and conferences, as required.
    • Working closely with key stakeholders (e.g. global marketing, sales, product specialist group, product, compliance, finance).
    • Working closely with other members of the marketing team in Asia (based in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore) on Marketing materials and roadshows so as to create efficiency within Asia marketing team.

    Qualifications:

    7+ years of working experience in the capacity of Asset Management/ Fund Marketing.  Candidates with prior experience in channel and/or product marketing in Asset Management Firm will be preferred

    • University Degree in Marketing, Finance, Economics or Business Administration.  Professional Marketing or Finance qualifications is a plus
    • Self-motivated, creative, responsible, with excellent attention to detail

    • Subject matter expertise to drive presentations and campaign development

    • Fluent in English and Mandarin and ability to read and write in excellent English and Chinese
    • Computer skills such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Chinese word processing is a must
    • Ability to work independently and a good team player coupled with excellent project management skill
    • Ability to use Bloomberg and Lipper is a plus.
