    Legg Mason is seeking a Transfer Agency Oversight/Fund Administration & Operational Risk Analyst to join our team in Dublin. This role is part of the International Global Fiduciary Platform (GFP), which is responsible for the oversight and monitoring of the service providers appointed to support the fund distribution business for Legg Mason.

     

    You will be part of the International GFP team supporting Legg Mason’s UCITS fund ranges based in Ireland & UK. You will have a focus on the day to day oversight of key reporting and service level monitoring.

     

    In this role, you will play an essential part in the development and launch of new products, developing new processes and controls based on changes in the regulatory and business environment, and other key strategic initiatives. You will get to work closely with many different areas within the firm and all levels of management including Product Development, Distribution, Legal, Compliance, and Risk.

    Key Responsibilities:

    TA/Fund Administration:

    • Continuous review of the operational risks associated with the outsourcing of the fund accounting/TA/custody operations of the Company’s to third party service providers
    • Ensure execution of the oversight plan in place to mitigate the operational risks related to outsourcing
    • Supporting the Company’s new product launches and changes to existing products
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including Branches and affiliates) to understand, support and implement their operational requirements.
    • Work with the service providers to ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Board
    • Coordinate the annual/semi-annual process for reports and accounts, including liaising with auditors, administrators and LM entities
    • Escalating matters in accordance with the agreed trigger points.
    • Reporting to the Head of Office

    Operational Risk:

    • Periodically reviewing operational risks (including people, systems, processes and external events) relating to key service providers for the UCITS and AIFs and arising from EU Institutional Segregated Account Clients, including TA and FA resilience requirements
    • Reviewing existing and proposed new products and business activities to identify and assess operational risks including hedged share classes
    • Reviewing and analysing TA and FA operational, including system, people or process changes for impact on operational risks relevant to the UCITS, AIFs and EU Institutional Segregated Account Clients
    • Collecting, analysing and reporting TA, FA, custodian and Depositary operational risk data, to inform and monitor risk tolerances, including capital and liquidity metrics
    • Providing operational advice, support and assistance, as necessary, to the Company and its branches
    • To co-ordinate the Company’s risk register updates, including GFPs supplier oversight RCSA updates, as required
    • Assisting with documentation of risk policies and procedures
    • Preparing presentations of risk reviews to EROC and as applicable the Chief Risk Officer
    • Co-ordination with Depositaries and others annual and ad hoc due diligence visits
    • Serving as a resource to the Company’s European Risk & Operations Committee, which has oversight responsibilities for operational risk matters related to the Company (including its branches), key services providers for UCITS and AIFs managed by the Company, and on operational risk arising from EU Institutional Segregated Account Clients.

      

    Qualifications:

    • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of UCITS products from an operations and shareholder reporting perspective.
    • Knowledge of Transfer Agent role including understanding of Transfer Agent Platforms including system outputs.
    • Knowledge of Global Distribution and Cross border dealing platforms – ie. Latin America, Asia and UK.
    • Strong grasp of the investment management market place, and an awareness of current industry trends, Regulatory requirements and issues – ie. AML, FATCA, Onboarding requirements.
    • Relationship management experience
    • Must be able to react and resolve operational issues in a short time frame.
    • 5+ years’ experience in the investment management industry preferred
