  • Position Overview

    Our Global HR team is hiring an experienced  Talent Management Consultant to join our offices in either Baltimore, MD or Stamford, CT.  


    In this exciting position, you will help to build organizational agility and change management capability for leaders and staff, enabling the rapid adoption of technology, process, organizational and job transformations. Additionally, you will leverage innovative and forward thinking approaches to establish and champion a learning culture and capability that directly supports short and long term organizational, leadership and human capital development needs. You will play an integral role in the design, analysis and delivery of key talent management initiatives, including talent review, leadership development, employee engagement, and change management. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design and coordinate core talent processes including talent reviews, performance and potential assessment and coaching, succession planning, and talent development 
    • Contribute to the development and delivery of leadership development programs 
    • Occasional review and assessment of Legg Mason's organizational leader competencies, ensuring Legg Mason is positioned for future growth
    • Regularly assess talent management needs and recommend solutions as needed 
    • Consult with HR Business Partners and business leaders to assess leadership and workforce skills and capabilities against future needs, to help develop a high impact talent development strategy for the global enterprise 
    • Works with the Head of Talent Management and business leaders to asses and identify critical business and people issues associated with complex or large-scale change management projects and organizational initiatives, developing capabilities and tools to navigate through the change 
    • Manages organizational development and change management projects, from needs assessment through implementation and measurement 
    • Leveraging knowledge and experience with leadership and management development, professional development, team effectiveness, coaching, change management and culture change in identifying talent management and OD interventions 
    • Development of measurement strategies to assess effectiveness and ROI of talent management and OD interventions 
    • Stays current on research and practices in talent management, organization and talent development and change management 
    • Work in partnership on projects to aid continuous improvement and implement improvement programs  (e.g. business excellence or lean agile programs). 
    • Supporting research and validation of current and new assessment programs at the enterprise level. 


    • 7-10 years of Talent Management, OD and Change Management experience, including working with enterprise-wide, cross-functional high-level initiatives and large-scale projects
    • Degree in HR, Learning and Development, OD, I/O Psychology preferred; Master’s Degree a plus
    • Flexible and adaptable; able to work effectively in ambiguity
    • Excellent verbal, written and facilitation skills required; experience with intranet and other website communication a plus (Igloo, SharePoint, MS Teams, WebEx, etc.)
    • Technology proficient; advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills desired
    • Consulting and project management experience preferred
    • Demonstrated knowledge of change management and innovative talent development principles, methodologies and tools
    • Resilient and able to work in a fast-paced work environment
    • Must be a team player with the ability to collaborate with and work through others
    • Requires the ability to work independently and be readily adaptable to changes in work priorities
    • Knowledge of Workday human capital management system a plus
