    Legg Mason is seeking a new member of our HR Solutions Services team to support our recently re-designed Global HR operating model. Each of our HR Solutions Coordinators supports and connects deeply with all of our Global HR functions, including Talent Management, Total Rewards, Business Partnership, and Strategy Solutions.  Our team uses a client-first, agile, and data-driven mindset to add significant value to each of our HR functions and the services they deliver to our business.

     

    Reporting to the HR Solutions Manager based in Baltimore, MD (USA) and working closely with the HR Business Partner based in Melbourne, the HR Solutions Coordinator will provide HR generalist support across Legg Mason and its affiliated businesses based.

     

    Candidates must be located in Australia or have the appropriate work authorization to work in Australia.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with a diverse range of HR functions
    • Research, resolve, respond to global employee and manager inquiries to HR on topics including HR policies, employee benefits, payroll coordination, use of HR Systems (e.g. Workday), and job events (e.g. new hire on-boarding, promotion, transfer, separation)
    • Preparation and administration of employment contracts
    • Management of employee leave
    • Create, analyse and clearly present reports that support the needs and goals of our HR functions
    • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and/or improve existing processes
    • Maintain a working knowledge of HR policies and procedures through continual consultation with HR functional teams, data analysis, and responding to employee inquiries
    • Gain exposure to the strategic priorities of HR in order to align operational efforts and exercise independent decision making

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
    • At least 1 year of relevant professional experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
    • High level Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with vlookup, pivot tables, etc.
    • Proficiency in processing, analysis, and presentation of data
    • Collaborate effectively with colleagues in HR and other departments, virtually or in-person
    • Consistent detail-oriented approach delivering a high level of accuracy
    • Clearly communicate in writing, in person or by phone
    • Resilient and responsive to changing team needs and priorities, unexpected challenges
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
    • Independently take ownership and accountability for work
    • A passion for continuous learning and growth
    • Ability to work out of Legg Mason's Melbourne, Australia location without requiring sponsorship; must have appropriate work authorization
