The German business development team is a key part of our international sales effort, deepening key relationships with top tier European quasi-institutional, retail, and institutional clients whilst pro-actively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with new and existing clients.
The distribution unit covering Germany, Austria, and German speaking Luxembourg is located in Frankfurt. Currently, the sales team is concentrating on deepening existing relationships mainly with the leading third party distributors in the region, fund of fund managers, family offices and major consultants. The team also markets the Legg Mason products to a select, but increasing number of institutional investors such as banks, insurance companies, and pension funds.
The Director of Business Development will focus on the distribution of the mutual fund ranges of Legg Mason and its affiliates. The support in the distribution of segregated accounts managed by Legg Mason affiliates is a complementary activity. Given the particular build-out situation, the position offers the unique opportunity of forming and designing the business in Germany for a leading global asset management firm. Accordingly, the position requires a person with a pronounced business acumen demonstrating ownership and responsibility for the existing and prospective customers assigned.
